Massie/Khanna Have Enough Support to Force Epstein Files Vote

Adelita Grijalva to Become 218th Signature Needed to Force House Epstein Files Vote

Washington, D.C. — On Tuesday, Adelita Grijalva won a special election in Arizona, setting her up to be the decisive 218th signature needed to force a House floor vote on Rep. Thomas Massie’s and Rep. Ro Khanna’s Epstein Files Transparency Act. In addition to the soon-to-be 214 Democrats, four Republicans have supported the discharge petition: Reps. Massie, Nancy Mace, Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene. Demand Progress is leading a campaign that so far has driven Americans to send around 290,000 messages and make more than 4,000 calls asking Congress to get the Epstein files fully released.

The following is a statement from Demand Progress Senior Policy Advisor Cavan Kharrazian:

“Soon, a majority of the House of Representatives will join the overwhelming majority of Americans who want to see action on releasing the Epstein files. It’s obviously in the public’s interest to find out what the government knows about a convicted sex trafficker with deep ties to some of the richest and most powerful people in the world, including the sitting president. We thank Reps. Massie and Khanna for leading this bipartisan campaign for accountability and we call on Speaker Johnson to listen to the voice of the American public and let the Epstein Files Transparency Act come to a vote without procedural delay.”
