Trump Approves Musk’s ‘MechaHitler’ AI for Government Use

Grok’s History of Biased, Offensive Misinformation Violates Trump Directive for ‘Neutral, Nonpartisan Tools’

Washington, D.C. — On Thursday, xAI announced that all federal agencies will be receiving access to its AI chatbot Grok for official government use. This summer, Grok infamously declared itself to be MechaHitler and is reportedly shaped by X owner Elon Musk’s own personal political opinions. Demand Progress signed a letter warning against government use of Grok because the chatbot’s biased, inaccurate and offensive track record violates President Donald Trump’s AI Action Plan, which calls for the government to only use “neutral, nonpartisan tools that do not manipulate responses in favor of ideological dogmas.”

The following is a statement from Demand Progress Policy Director Emily Peterson-Cassin:

“Words have lost all meaning when the same president who ordered the government to use only ‘neutral, nonpartisan tools’ grants every federal agency access to his former best friend’s ‘MechaHitler’ AI. Grok, currently advertising its anime and furry chatbots, is less a useful AI tool and more a crude AI facsimile of Elon Musk that should have no place in official government business. Today’s announcement is yet another example of the president’s actual AI action plan: handing the keys to the federal government to his Big Tech patrons.”
