25K Sign Epstein Petition to Congress in 24 Hours

As Trump Cries Hoax, Momentum Grows to Release Epstein Files

Washington, D.C. — As President Donald Trump this morning bemoaned the “now dying” “Epstein Hoax,” Demand Progress announced that, in 24 hours, more than 25,000 people signed a petition asking Congress to release the Epstein files. In total, Americans have sent nearly 250,000 messages and made more than 2,600 calls asking Congress to release the files. The petition blitz follows a deeply moving press conference hosted by Reps. Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna with multiple Epstein survivors. So far, 216 House members, just two short of the 218 needed, are supporting a petition to force a vote on releasing the files—including Republican Reps. Massie, Nancy Mace, Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene. Multiple polls have also shown that a majority of Americans, and many Republicans, disapprove of how the Trump administration is handling the Epstein files.

The following is a statement from Demand Progress Senior Policy Advisor Cavan Kharrazian:

“President Trump is ignoring reality when he downplays and dismisses the Epstein situation. The flood of support for our Epstein campaign over the past day alone tells us that there is intense and growing grassroots interest in releasing the files. It’s time to stop denying reality and listen to the American people. We want to know what information our government has about a convicted sex trafficker with ties to some of the richest and most powerful people in the world. If the administration won’t offer real transparency, then Congress must force them to.”
